01-08-2005 Fire Safety Training to COMSART by PROSART at  eranial village in kanyakumari District On 30 & 31 july,2005

      On 30.07.05 a training is given to Community Search and Rescue Team (COMSART) by Professional Search and Rescue Team(PROFSART) at Eranial village in Kanyakumari District organized by S.Veeramani,ADFO with DO and ADFO Kanyakumari Division .Safety Volunteers at Kanyakumari ,Fire and Rescue Services Station.  Members of NGOs, Teachers were also present in the meeting. In the meeting Mr. S.veeramani, Assistant Divisional Officer, Chennai City North. delivered a lecture on Fire Safety and explained the various types of fires and the methods of extinguishing them. The personnel has given training on various rescue operations and  evacuation procedures. 

 

02-03-05 Fire Safety Awareness Campaigns at V.O.C. Nagar

02.03.05 a meeting was organized with Safety Volunteers at V.O.C. Nagar Fire and Rescue Services Station.  Members of NGOs, Teachers were also present in the meeting. In the meeting Mr. D.N. Velayudhan Nair, Assistant Divisional Officer, Chennai City North delivered a lecture on Fire Safety and explained the various types of fires and the methods of extinguishing them. The personnel of the V.O.C. Fire and Rescue Station demonstrated various rescue operations and  evacuation procedures. 
 

 

 


Fire Safety Awareness Campaigns for Safety Volunteers

    08.01.05 a meeting was organized with Safety Volunteers at Korukkupet Fire and Rescue Services Station.  Members of NGOs, Teachers and Physically challenged persons were also present in the meeting. In the meeting Mr. D.N. Velayudhan Nair, Assistant Divisional Officer, Chennai City North delivered a lecture on Fire Safety and explained the various types of fires and the methods of extinguishing them.  Physically challenged persons were given tips to rescue themselves in case of fire and other accidents.  The personnel of the Korukkupet demonstrated various rescue operations and evacuation procedures.


Awareness and Blood Donation Camp by Safety Volunteers

  On 19.12.04 Safety Volunteers of  Manali organised a Blood Donation and Awareness Campaign at Manali.  Students, local people, members and executive members of Manali Panchayat, Senior Manager, SRF, Safety Officers of SRL, MRL were present in the campaign.  Mr. V. Madurapandian, Deputy Director, Fire and Rescue Services, Northern Region, who headed the campaign answered the queries raised by the students and local people about fire safety.  Station Officer and Personnel of Manali Fire and Rescue Services Station demonstrated various rescue methods and evacuation procedures.  A stage play on Fire Safety was organized by Women Safety Volunteers  for 10 minutes on the subject.  The campaign was ended with blood donation by Safety Volunteers and personnel of Manali F&R Station.  The camp drew the attention of large number of people in the area.  Nearly 500 people were present and benefited


Safety Volunteer of Royapuram rescued 3 persons alive from Tsunami  

  Mr. Rajesh a safety volunteer of Royapuram area rescued two persons from the recent tsunami which hit Tamil Nadu on 26.12.04.  His gallant and humanitarian act was duly recognized by the personnel and Station Officer of Esplanade Fire and Rescue Services Station. 

           Mr. R. Manohar who is an autorickshaw driver by profession is a  Safety Volunteer from Esplanade. On 09.12.04 when an owl was attached by crows in the busy streets of Paris Corner he rescued the owl from the crows and brought it to the Esplanade Fire and Rescue Services Station.  The life saving effort by Mr. R. Manohar was well appreciated by Mr. Rajesh Khanna, Station Officer, Esplanade.

          Safety Volunteers from Tondaiarpet were trained in fire prevention and fighting techniques on 12.12.04 at Tondaiarpet Fire and Rescue Services Station from 10.00 a.m to 12.00 noon by Station Officer    Mr. Nagappan.  They were also given instructions to handle fire situation in buildings like houses, multi-storied complexes and shopping areas.
